The Blind Side

The Blind Side is a movie about a football player named Michael Ohre. At the beginning you see him as a guy with nothing. Well except a plastic bag and a extra t shirt. His life is a mess until a women named LeighAnn Tooley takes him in her house and became Michael’s foster parent. This movie shows how people can change and how you can change them just by doing one good deed. One of my favorite characters has to be LeighAnn’s son SJ. Why well he’s a lot like me. And he’s is also very funny. This movie is for the whole family. One cool thing I like about this movie is that it was nominated for many Oscars. And that the author of the book is also the author of the book MoneyBall which the movie was also nominated for multiple Oscars.

Brave

Brave
Brave is a movie about a Scottish princess named Merida who accidentally turns her mother into a bear to change her fate. This movie talks about how people should chose their own way of living your life. Or in English being free. In my opinion it’s funny that she is the first cartoon female protagonist. I also like about this that it is dedicated to Steve Jobs because he had a great relationship with Pixar. This movie is for the whole family because each family member could learn a good lesson. But in conclusion this is a movie for anybody. Grandmas, brothers, sisters, moms , dads, cousins, uncles, hobos, and unpaid interns. Anyways to finish of this post check out my brothers new blog. The Avengers

I saw this epic film with my brother, dad, and several cousins. Now the thing about this movie is that it brings all these superheroes from different movies into one movie. The avengers are (for the people who don’t know them): Iron Man, The Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow and Hawkeye. This movie is about how Thor’s brother, Loki, tries to take over the Earth with a magical cube called the Tesseract. Now, the thing about the Tesseract is that you see it in the movies Thor and Captain America. Before I saw this film I had a feeling that the Tesseract had to do with The Avengers. Anyways, I LOVE being a spoiler so I will tell you something shocking at the end of this movie. At the end of the first couple of credits there is a clip with an alien and this mysterious person. If you look closely enough you will see that one of the two people is The Red Skull. Shocking, isn’t it?! Mirror Mirror

I saw this great comedy in Charlottesville, Virginia during my spring break. This movie is about how an evil queen wants to find the fairest one of all. Obviously, the fairest one of all is Snow White. So I will not explain how the movie goes but I will present my opinion. Now the comedy was good but not the best. You see, some of the comedy was cheesy. For example, when the Queen makes a remark on how she has crinkles and not wrinkles. The acting was good, but I do have to say it was good to see one of my favorite Broadway stars in this movie. Who is this star you might ask? Well, the star is the wonderful AHmazing Nathan Lane. So should I recommend this movie to you readers out there? Well, a yes and a no. To the people who want to see cheesy comedy, then yes to you guys and no to the people who are truly artistic.

Wrath of the Titans

This movie shows how action meets history. Wrath of the Titans is a movie about a fisherman named Perseus who figures out that he is the son of the Greek god Zeus. At the same time, he hears how Zeus’ brother Hades has teamed up with Ares, the god of war, to rise their father, Kronos, from the dead. In order to do this, Hades kidnaps Zeus and drains his power to awaken Kronos. After Perseus discovers these strange things, he starts his journey to the Underworld to find the dangerous pit of Tartarus where Kronos dwells. To find the underworld, he needs to seek assistance to get to this mysterious island where he can find a god. Perseus finds two people – Queen Andromeda and Agenor. Since Agenor is the son of Poseidon, he found a way to get to the unknown island. On the island, the group finds Cyclops, a type of mystical, one-eyed creature. Once they encounter the Cyclops, the group asks the Cyclops if they can take them to a god. The creatures do as they are told and take them to Hephaestus, the Greek god of forging weapons. The group asks for his assistance and if he knows a way to the underworld. The god says yes and leads the group to the Labyrinth to the underworld. When they arrive at the Underworld, they stop Hades and save the universe from a giant, evil lava monster that is obsessed with taking over the universe. I liked this movie because I saw it in IMAX3D and the effects blew me away. Another reason why I liked it was because I LOVE Greek mythology and I know this story very well. If I were you, I would pay careful attention to the third scene.

The Hunger Games

This wonderful action-packed movie is about how in the future the US is divided in 12 parts instead of the current 50. Each district (aka states) must send one boy and one girl to fight in the deadly Hunger Games. Well, this movie is about how one girl named Katniss Everdeen must fight in the games with a boy, who works at the town bakery, named Peeta Mellark. Imagine being picked to die at the age of 11. Well, that’s is why Katniss is in the Hunger Games in the first place. You see, Katniss’ little sister, Prim, gets chosen and Katniss volunteers to take her place in the games because of her love for her sister. When Peeta and Katniss arrive at the Capital where the hungers are always held, they meet their mentors who have won the Hunger Games before. Peeta’s mentor, Effie Trinket, is obsessed with clothing and Katniss’ mentor, Haymitch Abernathy, is basically a drunk who really does not care about the kids even if they die. Anyways, the two kids meet their costume designers, who come up with a way to let the kids express their feelings about their district. The kids thought that since District 12 provides coal that their costumes would have to do with fire. During the Hunger Games parade, Cinna (Katniss’ designer) lights Peeta’s and Katniss’ clothes on fire. When people see Katniss, the people call her “The Girl on Fire.” Finally, when the games begin, she figures out that there would be a cornucopia that has a lot of supplies, such as weapons, food, and most importantly water, to survive in the Hunger Games. But the only thing standing in the way from getting stuff from the cornucopia is Haymitch telling her NOT to get anything from the cornucopia because it is basically a trap. Taking Haymitch’s advice, Katniss does not get anything and fights in the Hunger Games. At the end, instead of having one winner of the Hunger Games, two people could win which (spoiler alert!)….Peeta and Katniss.

Soul Surfer

This movie is about the story of Bethany Hamilton. For those who don’t know who Bethany Hamilton is, she is a professional surfer. And her story is quite miraculous. You see one day while Bethany was surfing with her brother, friend Alana and Alana’s dad, a shark bit off her arm. They were able to rush her to the hospital and the funny thing is that her father had a knee operation that same day, so instead Bethany took her dad’s place in the operating room. Although she lost over 60% of her blood, she managed to survive. After she got out of the hospital, Bethany asked her dad if she could go surfing again. She tried to surf with one arm, but at first it was too difficult for her and she gave up the sport. But then her church youth counselor, played brilliantly by Carrie Underwood of American Idol fame, invited her to be a part of a mission trip to Thailand right after a big tsunami. Then she realizes that she didn’t lose anything but her arm. So she goes through this special training to help her so that she could surf again. At one point in the movie, she said this line that I just had to post here. She said, “I don’t do easy, I do possible.” At the end of the movie, I cried like a baby.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules

Now the first thing I need to say is that I know I haven’t written in a while because there aren’t any good movies any more. Here are some movies I did not want to see: Rango, Gnomeo and Juliet, and JB Never Say Never. But this movie I have been waiting for a long time. Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2 is about when Greg Heffley must bond with his older brother, Rodrick. But Rodrick is part of the problem in this movie. Greg has a crush on the new girl at his school, Holly Hills. When Greg must bond with his brother and try to get a girl both at the same time, his friend Rowley recommends performing with him in the Talent Show that is coming up. The only problem is that Rowley’s talent is magic. So he asked Greg to be his assistant.

Whats strange about this door?

What I liked about this movie is that when Greg goes to church and he has a chocolate stain in his pants and everyone at the church thinks its poop. I recommend this movie to all the Diary of Wimpy Kid fans and their parents who will recall their adolescence.

Yogi Bear

I saw this fun, awesome, and cute film with my neighbors Jacob, Hannah, and Kylie. Now this film is about when a park called Jellystone is forced to shut down unless Yogi and his sidekick, Boo Boo Bear, can save the park by raising a certain amount of money. Now who is forcing the park to close? Well, you will have to see this movie to figure that out.

Yogi Bear is a fun movie for kids of all ages

My favorite part of this movie is when Yogi is riding the rapids of Jellystone and he almost dies. (But just between you and me, he does not DIE.) Now my favorite character in this movie is Boo Boo’s pet turtle, Turtle. You see, he is probably the most important character in this movie because he is a frog-mouthed turtle. I know it sounds crazy, but he is. I recommended this film to a lot of people, both young and old. Now you may know that this film is available in 3-D and it is worth seeing in 3-D. You might be surprised about how good the effects are. I know I was. This movie earns 5 popcorn bags(out of 5).

Gulliver’s Travels

O.K., let me cut to the chase. This movie is not the best movie of all time and it’s also not the best Jack Black movie either. This movie is about a mailman named Gulliver who tries to impress a girl by pretending to write stories. Well the problem is, he has no idea what to write about. The girl he is trying to impress said that he had to right a piece about the Bermuda Triangle. When he plagiarizes the piece he has to go to the Bermuda Triangle to reveal the secrets on the island. He arrives on an island called Lilliput and encounters tiny people.

The part I did not like about this movie is that there was a fire in the royal palace of Lilliput and the only way to stop was that Gulliver had to pee on the royal palace. The part I did like about this movie is, well actually there was not a good part about this movie. Here are descriptive words about this movie not well made, unsatisfying, not a laugh out comedy, and last but not least some parts are inappropriate for children under the age of seven. So the one word I’m looking for to describe this movie is HORRIBLE. I give this movie 2 popcorn bags (out of 5).
